EDITORS COMMENTS
This stunning photograph captures the elegant and historic moment of the Royal Wedding of Prince Alexander of Teck and Princess Alice of Albany on 10 February 1904 at St George's Chapel, Windsor. Prince Alexander, later known as Earl of Athlone, is seen here in his full military uniform, adorned with medals, stars, and braid, displaying his rank and distinction. His moustache and neatly groomed beard add to his regal appearance. Princess Alice, his second cousin once removed, is also dressed in the finest of Edwardian attire, wearing the Order of the Garter sash and a diadem in her hair. The newlyweds, who were both descendants of King George III, were affectionately known as 'the people's prince and princess' due to their popular appeal. After their marriage, Princess Alice was officially titled as Princess Alexander of Teck. This photograph is a testament to the grandeur and tradition of the British monarchy during the early 20th century.
