EDITORS COMMENTS
Step into the Roaring Twenties with this cover design from the June 1929 issue of Aeronautics Magazine, formerly known as Popular Aviation. The elegant woman, dressed in a chic white outfit and red hat, exudes a sense of adventure and excitement as she sits on the edge of a sleek, yellow aeroplane cockpit. The plane, with its streamlined design and modern features, represents the advancements in aviation technology during this era of transport and travel revolution. The woman's confident pose and the vibrant colors of the cover design perfectly capture the spirit of the 1920s, a time when flying became accessible to a wider audience and the world seemed full of endless possibilities. This cover design, a beautiful fusion of art and technology, is a testament to the allure of flight and the fascination with the skies that defined the era. The Royal Aeronautical Society's archives, housed at the National Aerospace Library, offer a wealth of historical treasures like this one, providing valuable insights into the history of aviation and the role it played in shaping our world.
