Captured circa 1840, this image offers a rare glimpse into the daily life of market people and their trade. The scene unfolds at a bustling open-air market, where the air is filled with the aroma of freshly baked bread wafting from a local baker's stall. The central figure of this image is a market vendor, intently focused on selling his freshly baked loaves to eager customers. With a determined expression and a practiced hand, he expertly slices a loaf, revealing its golden, crusty exterior.
