Bevelled wood effect frame, card mounted, 15x10 archival quality photo print. Overall outside dimensions 21x16 inches (54x41cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass). This print commemorates a concert performed by The Prismatics Concert Party of the 1st South Midland Field Ambulance, RAMCT, on the 10th of March, 1917. The Prismatics were a popular concert party, a form of entertainment that provided morale-boosting performances for troops during World War I. The 1st South Midland Field Ambulance was a medical unit of the Royal Army Medical Corps (RAMC) that served during the Great War. The unit was formed in September 1914 and saw action on the Western Front. The soldiers in this unit would have faced the harsh realities of war, treating the wounded and sick under challenging conditions. This concert programme, now a cherished piece of commemorative art, offers a glimpse into the lighter side of life for these soldiers.
