EDITORS COMMENTS
This intricately crafted Brass Lighter in the form of a Jackboot, a unique piece of Trench Art from World War I, showcases the creativity and resourcefulness of soldiers during wartime. The design features a jackboot, a common symbol of German military power, with an Imperial Eagle emblem at its base. The removable top of the lighter reveals a German Pickelhaube helmet, a distinctive military headgear worn by the German Army during the early 20th century. The lighter's body is made of brass, a durable and widely available material during the war. The detailed metalwork and intricate engravings on this lighter are a testament to the skill and artistry of the soldier who created it. The lighter's flint wheel is located at the back of the jackboot, ready for use. This historical artifact is a poignant reminder of the ingenuity and resilience of soldiers during the First World War. The Brass Lighter in the form of a Jackboot with Imperial Eagle emblem is a rare and valuable piece of military history, a true treasure for collectors and history enthusiasts.
