Art Nouveau scene with Handwalking greek girl
An Art Nouveau picture depicting a young handwalking greek girl along with an accompanying musician, playing a set of pipes, drawn from a belt-mounted scabard-style pouch and played attached directly to the face. She is walking on her hands over a set of spikes in a seemingly perilous situation. This card is signed Meurein, - possibly a pen name for Henri Meunier (1873 - 1922)?

EDITORS COMMENTS
"This Art Nouveau print, signed 'Meurein' and believed to be the work of Henri Meunier (1873-1922), showcases a young Greek girl in an extraordinary and daring pose. Balancing gracefully on her hands, she navigates a perilous path adorned with sharp spikes. Accompanying her is a musician, his expression focused as he plays a set of pipes, drawn from a belt-mounted scabard-style pouch, and played directly against his face. The ethereal beauty of the girl and the enchanting allure of the musician are drawn from Greek mythology, adding an element of myth and nudity to this intriguing scene. The pair's coordinated movements and the interplay of nudity, music, and danger evoke a sense of harmony and balance that is both captivating and thought-provoking. This stunning work of art, reminiscent of the Art Nouveau movement, invites the viewer to ponder the themes of grace, strength, and the power of the human spirit."
