EDITORS COMMENTS
This photograph series, captured around the year 1881, presents twenty-four consecutive images of a man skillfully driving a sulky, an open two-wheeled cart, pulled by the magnificent horse named Edgington. The images evoke a sense of tranquility and elegance, transporting us back in time to an era where horses were the primary mode of transportation. The man, dressed in a crisp suit and top hat, holds the reins with a firm yet gentle grip, demonstrating his expertise and connection with his equine companion. Edgington, with its muscular build and glossy coat, trots effortlessly, its hooves barely touching the ground. The images showcase the harmony and synchronicity between man and horse, as they move in perfect unison, leaving a trail of dust in their wake. The backdrop of open fields and trees adds to the serene atmosphere, making this photograph series a beautiful testament to the bond between humans and horses during the late 19th century.
