Bevelled wood effect frame, card mounted, 10x8 archival quality photo print. Overall outside dimensions 14x12 inches (36x31cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, the Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! This album, dated October 3rd, 1917, showcases an impressive collection of 53 intricately drawn images, meticulously created by Private Roland Brinckman during his active service with the 5th Canadian Machine Gun Corps (CMGC), also known as The Shiny Fifth, during World War I. Born in Kilkenny, Ireland, in 1894, Brinckman was an architect before enlisting on November 19th, 1915. His address at the time of enlistment was 1047 River Avenue, South Vancouver, BC. Brinckman served in B Section of the 5th CMGC in France. The album's front cover bears the date and the regimental number 760254 of the dedicated soldier. Each drawing was carefully executed in an Army notebook, numbered 152. The images depict various scenes from military life, including soldiers at rest, landscapes, and even a few whimsical sketches.
