EDITORS COMMENTS
This print captures the essence of Prudentia, one of the Four Cardinal Virtues personified as a woman with a mirror. Standing confidently, she reveals her bare upper body while holding a mirror in her right hand. The artist, Lambert Sustris (circle of), skillfully portrays this allegorical figure with great attention to detail. The composition is both powerful and thought-provoking. Prudentia's pose exudes strength and self-assurance, symbolizing the virtue she represents. The mirror in her hand serves as a reminder of introspection and self-reflection, emphasizing the importance of wisdom and careful decision-making. Measuring 20 cm in height, 12.5 cm in width, and 1.5 cm in depth, this panel painting showcases Sustris' mastery of oil paint techniques. Every brushstroke brings life to Prudentia's form and expression. Part of a series featuring four allegorical female figures representing different virtues, this artwork stands out for its timeless beauty and symbolic significance. It invites viewers to contemplate their own actions and choices through the lens of prudence. Whether displayed on its own or as part of an art collection, this print from Liszt Collection adds elegance and depth to any space it graces. Its historical value combined with its aesthetic appeal makes it an exceptional piece that transcends commercial use limitations
