This print showcases Henri Rousseau's masterpiece, "t vierge au soleil couchant" painted around 1910. The oil on canvas painting measures an impressive 113.6 x 162.3 cm and is signed by the artist in white color at the lower right corner. Rousseau, also known as Le Douanier (the customs officer), was born in Laval/Mayenne in 1844 and passed away in Paris in 1910. Despite having no formal training as an artist, he developed a unique style that blended elements of naïve art with his own imaginative vision. In this particular artwork, Rousseau transports us to a lush virgin forest illuminated by the setting sun. The warm hues of orange and gold create a mesmerizing atmosphere, while the intricate details of foliage and wildlife bring the scene to life. The sheer scale of this piece allows viewers to immerse themselves fully into Rousseau's dreamlike world. It is evident that every brushstroke has been carefully placed with precision and intention, showcasing his mastery over his craft.
