This print showcases a stunning piece of Japanese art from the Edo period, specifically between 1615 and 1868. The artwork features a Shakuhachi kind bamboo flute cover adorned with delicate cherry flowers, beautifully capturing the essence of nature's ephemeral beauty. The artist behind this masterpiece is Ryuryukyo Shinsai, a renowned Japanese woodblock printmaker active during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. His exceptional skill in combining ink and color on paper is evident in every intricate detail of this composition. Measuring approximately 5 1/2 x 7 7/16 inches (14 x 18.9 cm), this print is part of an album containing various woodblock prints known as surimono.
