EDITORS COMMENTS
This print titled "Donkey Field original impression 1862 printed" takes us back in time to the year 1862, when it was originally created by the talented French artist Charles Francois Daubigny. Printed in 1921, this particular piece showcases Daubigny's mastery of cliche-verre technique. The image transports us to a serene field where a lone donkey stands gracefully amidst the lush greenery. The composition is beautifully balanced, with the donkey positioned off-center, drawing our attention to its peaceful presence. Daubigny's attention to detail is evident in every stroke and line captured on this small sheet measuring 17.4 x 20.9 cm. Daubigny, known for his landscape paintings and etchings, brings his artistic vision to life through this unique medium of cliche-verre. The platemark measures 16.8 x 20 cm and adds an exquisite touch to the overall aesthetic.
