EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases the exquisite sculpture "Bacchus and Ariadne" by Giuseppe Piamontini, an Italian artist who lived from 1663 to 1744. The artwork is believed to have been created during the first half of the 18th century in Florence, Italy, specifically in Tuscany, Europe. Crafted from bronze, this magnificent piece stands at a height of 40.01cm (15 3/4 inches) with a width of 29.53cm (11 5/8 inches) and depth of 21.59cm (8 1/2 inches). Its intricate details and lifelike expressions capture the essence of Bacchus and Ariadne's mythological tale. In Greek mythology, Bacchus was known as the god of wine and revelry while Ariadne was a princess abandoned on an island by her lover Theseus. This sculpture depicts their fateful encounter as Bacchus discovers Ariadne alone on Naxos Island after being deserted by Theseus. Piamontini's masterful craftsmanship brings these mythical figures to life through his attention to detail and skillful use of bronze material. The dynamic composition portrays Bacchus extending his arm towards Ariadne while she gazes up at him with longing eyes. The Liszt Collection has beautifully captured this timeless masterpiece in photographic form for all art enthusiasts to appreciate its beauty without commercial intentions. This print serves as a testament
