EDITORS COMMENTS
This print captures the grandeur and historical significance of G-Mex, a railway station turned exhibition hall and car park in Manchester. The image showcases the remarkable Victorian architecture, with its elegant glass and iron structure standing tall against the urban backdrop. The play of light and shadow adds depth to the composition, highlighting every intricate detail of this listed building. Originally built by the Midland Railway Company, G-Mex has undergone a fascinating transformation over time. Once a bustling railway station facilitating transport across the region, it now serves as an iconic venue for exhibitions and events. Its adaptive reuse is a testament to preserving architectural heritage while meeting contemporary needs. The photograph beautifully captures one particular aspect that makes G-Mex truly unique - its magnificent canopy.
