EDITORS COMMENTS
This print captures the ethereal beauty of Durham Cathedral and Palace Green after a magical snowfall in February 2001. The Cathedral, known as the Cathedral Church of Christ and St Mary the Virgin, stands tall and majestic amidst a winter wonderland. Its medieval architecture is highlighted by the pristine white blanket that covers its surroundings. In this enchanting scene, we are drawn to a delightful addition - a charming snowman standing proudly in front of the grand entrance. A symbol of joy and playfulness, it adds an element of whimsy to this otherwise solemn setting. Photographed by Bob Cottrell for Images of England, this image perfectly encapsulates the peacefulness and serenity that can be found in nature's embrace during wintertime.
