Letter written from Holyrood House, Edinburgh, by John Maitland, Duke of Lauderdale, (when Earl of Lauderdale, Secretary of State and High Commissioner of Scotland), enclosing the Act of Supremacy to be shown to the King (Charles II), and giving graphic details of its preparation and of the debate upon it before the Lords of the Articles at Edinburgh.
