EDITORS COMMENTS
This print transports us back to the 19th century, capturing the serene beauty of the Convent of the Holy Nativity in Bethlehem, Palestine. The artist, E Goodall, skillfully depicts this biblical landmark with intricate details and a monochrome palette that adds a sense of timelessness to the scene. The Convent of the Holy Nativity holds immense significance for Christianity as it is believed to be built on the very spot where Jesus Christ was born. Its location in Bethlehem, known as the birthplace of David from biblical times, further enhances its historical and religious importance. The print showcases not only the architectural grandeur of this sacred site but also its integration into its surrounding landscape.
