This print takes us back to the late 1920s, showcasing the remarkable construction of one of the towers that would support the iconic George Washington Bridge. Spanning across the majestic Hudson River, this suspension bridge served as a vital link connecting Manhattan and New Jersey. Commissioned by the New York Port Authority, this engineering marvel was designed by Othmar Ammann, a visionary civil engineer whose brilliance is evident in every steel beam captured in this monochrome image.
