EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases two legendary figures in the world of classical music - Alexander Scriabin and Serge Koussevitzky. The image captures a moment frozen in time, as these two Russian maestros share a profound connection through their shared passion for music. Alexander Scriabin, known for his innovative compositions and virtuosic piano skills, stands tall with an air of confidence. His piercing gaze reflects his deep devotion to his craft, while his poised hands suggest the mastery he possesses over the keys of a piano. Scriabin's presence exudes both intensity and elegance. Beside him stands Serge Koussevitzky, a renowned Russian orchestra conductor who would later become one of the most influential figures in 20th-century classical music. With an aura of authority surrounding him, Koussevitzky holds himself with grace as he prepares to lead an ensemble into symphonic brilliance. The oil painting by Robert Sterl beautifully captures this historic encounter between two musical giants. Through meticulous brushstrokes and expert use of light and shadow, Sterl brings out the essence of each man's character on canvas. This print serves as a testament to the power that music holds in connecting individuals across time and space. It is not just about notes on paper or fingers on keys; it is about the profound impact that art can have on our souls.
