This woodcut print titled "NOAH. Noah and the Ark" takes us back to ancient times, illustrating a pivotal moment in religious history. Created by Giacomo Filippo Forestis in 1524, this artwork is part of his renowned work called Supplementum Chronicarum. The scene depicted here showcases Noah, a central figure in both Christianity and Judaism, alongside the majestic Ark that saved humanity from the Great Flood as described in the Book of Genesis. The attention to detail is remarkable; every line etched into the woodcut brings life to this medieval masterpiece. Noah stands tall with a staff in hand, symbolizing his leadership and unwavering faith during these challenging times. Surrounding him are various animals such as deer and doves - representatives of all creatures that sought refuge on the Ark. This image serves as a reminder of God's covenant with mankind and His promise for renewal. As we gaze upon this historic artwork, we are transported back centuries ago when religion played an integral role in people's lives. It serves as a testament to human resilience and our ability to overcome adversity through faith.
