EDITORS COMMENTS
This lithograph from 1897 showcases the majestic beauty of a great horned owl, a formidable bird of prey. The intricate details and vibrant colors bring this antique print to life, capturing the essence of nature's artistry. Featured in "Diseases of Poultry" by Leonard Pearson and Clarence M. Busch, State Printer of Pennsylvania, this illustration serves as both an educational tool and a testament to the artistic talent that went into its creation. The vertical composition allows for a closer look at the owl's striking features - its piercing yellow eyes, sharp beak, and prominent ear tufts that give it its distinctive appearance. Rendered through engraving and etching techniques, every feather is meticulously depicted with precision and care. As we gaze upon this chromolithograph today, we are transported back in time to appreciate not only the beauty of this magnificent creature but also the skillful craftsmanship involved in producing such prints during an era when technology was more rudimentary. "The Great Horned Owl Lithograph 1897" by THEPALMER is a true treasure for any lover of birds or vintage artwork. It stands as a reminder that even after more than a century has passed since its creation, art continues to transcend time and evoke wonderment within us all.
