EDITORS COMMENTS
In this print captured by Paul Seheult, we are transported to the charming village of Findon in West Sussex, England. The image showcases a delightful scene from the annual Sheep Fair, where tradition and community spirit come alive. Amidst the vibrant atmosphere of the fairgrounds, our attention is drawn to an elderly lady who stands out with her timeless elegance and enthusiasm. With a disposable analogue film camera in hand, she embraces her passion for photography as she captures precious moments at this lively event. Her dedication to preserving memories through this classic medium is truly inspiring. As we observe her focused gaze through the viewfinder, it becomes evident that age does not hinder one's zest for life or their ability to embrace new hobbies. The juxtaposition of old and new within this photograph symbolizes the harmonious blend of past traditions and modern leisure activities found throughout Western Europe. It serves as a reminder that even in today's fast-paced world, there is still room for cherished customs and simple pleasures like fairs and hobbies. Paul Seheult skillfully encapsulates both the joyous ambiance of the funfair and the determination of this pensioner woman pursuing her hobby. Through his lens, he invites us into a moment frozen in time – one that celebrates community bonds, cultural heritage, and individual passions all at once.
