great photo capturing a memorable moment in Everton Football Club's history: James McFadden's debut goal, securing a hard-fought victory against Middlesbrough in the FA Barclays Premiership season 05/06. The image, taken by Lee Smith of Action Images, perfectly encapsulates the excitement and emotion of the Scottish international's first goal for his new club. McFadden, wearing the blue and white stripes of Everton, is seen leaping into the air, arms outstretched, as teammates and staff celebrate around him. The backdrop of The Riverside Stadium's pitch, with its lush green grass and empty seats, adds to the sense of isolation and triumph. The date, 29th April 2006, is etched into the memory of Evertonians, as their team fought to secure a place in the top half of the table. McFadden's goal proved to be a turning point in the season, boosting morale and providing a much-needed win.
