EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases the majestic Ajloun Castle, also known as Qala-at Ar-Rabad, located in Jordan's northern region of Ajloun. Built in 1188 AD, this ancient fortress stands tall and proud against the backdrop of the Middle Eastern landscape. The castle's exterior is a testament to its rich history and architectural brilliance. Its sturdy walls and imposing structure reflect the strength and power it once held during medieval times. As you gaze at this image, you can almost feel transported back in time to an era where kingdoms reigned supreme. Ajloun Castle has witnessed countless events throughout history, making it a significant landmark for both locals and tourists alike. It serves as a reminder of Jordan's cultural heritage and offers visitors a glimpse into its glorious past. With its strategic location atop Jabal Auf hill, Ajloun Castle not only served as a defensive fort but also provided breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes. Today, it remains one of Jordan's most popular travel destinations for those seeking historical sites and archaeological wonders. Walter Bibikow expertly captures the essence of this historic gem through his lens. His photography allows us to appreciate the beauty and grandeur that lies within these ancient walls while igniting our curiosity about civilizations long gone by.
