EDITORS COMMENTS
This print by Corey Hochachka showcases a Pumpjack standing tall in a vast field, set against the picturesque backdrop of Alberta, Canada. The image captures the essence of the countryside, with its wide open spaces and breathtaking natural beauty. The Pumpjack, an iconic symbol of the oil and gas industry, stands as a testament to human ingenuity and industrial progress. Its silhouette is beautifully outlined against the radiant hues of twilight and dusk, creating a striking contrast between man-made machinery and the serene environment. As day transitions into nightfall, lens flares add a touch of magic to this scene. The construction site comes alive under the starry sky as workers assemble and build with precision and responsibility. This photograph not only celebrates their hard work but also highlights our reliance on fuel and machinery for powering our modern world. Amidst this industrial setting, nature's resilience shines through in delicate flowers dotting the grassy landscape. Blue skies dotted with fluffy clouds serve as a reminder that even within an energy-driven industry like oil drilling, ecological balance can be maintained. Corey Hochachka's skillful composition captures both power and grace in this photo print. It invites viewers to appreciate both the beauty of rural landscapes while acknowledging humanity's role in shaping them through industries such as construction.
