EDITORS COMMENTS
This print captures the legendary Bob Geeson's REG motorcycle, a true icon in British racing history. Designed and built by Geeson himself, this remarkable machine dominated the post-war era with its exceptional performance on short-circuit tracks throughout the 1950s and 1960s. The REG motorcycle was not only a testament to Geeson's engineering prowess but also served as a platform for some of the most talented riders of that time. The likes of John Surtees, Derek Minter, and Fred Hadry had the privilege to pilot this incredible bike to numerous victories. In this particular snapshot taken at Oulton Park in 1953, we witness the sheer power and elegance of the REG as it gracefully navigates through corners. The intense concentration on Geeson's face reflects his determination to push both himself and his creation to their limits. As one gazes upon this photograph, they cannot help but be transported back in time when British racing motorcycles were at their zenith. It serves as a reminder of an era where passion for speed merged with ingenuity, resulting in machines like the REG that left an indelible mark on motorcycling history. This print is not just about capturing a moment frozen in time; it encapsulates an entire chapter in British racing heritage. It pays homage to Bob Geeson's extraordinary vision and craftsmanship while celebrating those fearless riders who fearlessly tamed this mechanical beast on racetracks across Britain.
