EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases a stunning oil painting of a young hippie woman, exuding the essence of counterculture and freedom. The artist, Judi Parkinson, skillfully captures the spirit of the 1960s and 1970s with her brushstrokes, creating a textured and vibrant portrait that is both nostalgic and timeless. The subject of this close-up image is a teenage girl adorned with beads, flowers, and scarves. Her peroxide blonde hair cascades down her shoulders as she confidently gazes into the distance. The bold colors - yellow, white, orange, and blue - add an extra layer of vibrancy to this already striking piece. Parkinson's attention to detail is evident in every aspect of this fine art portrait. From the intricately painted tie-dye patterns on her headscarf to the delicate brush strokes used to depict each individual bead around her neck; no element has been overlooked. This artwork not only serves as a visual representation of an era but also celebrates femininity and self-expression. It encapsulates the beauty and health associated with embracing one's true identity while challenging societal norms. Whether you are captivated by its retro-styled imagery or simply appreciate its artistic value, this oil painting transports viewers back in time while remaining relevant in today's world. A testament to Parkinson's talent as both a photographer and painter alike.
