EDITORS COMMENTS
Great moment captured in Arsenal's classic match against Wigan Athletic on May 7, 2006, at Highbury in London. Thierry Henry, the Arsenal legend, celebrates scoring the team's second goal, marking his first of two goals in the game. With an unforgettable smile and raised arms, Henry revels in the moment, surrounded by his teammates and the ecstatic Arsenal crowd. The FA Premiership match, which ended in a 4-2 victory for Arsenal, was a crucial one for the team's title hopes. Henry's first goal came in the 23rd minute, and his second, a stunning strike from outside the box, sealed the deal in the 85th minute. Mike Pollitt, the Wigan Athletic goalkeeper, can be seen diving in vain to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Henry's goal was a testament to his skill, determination, and the magic he brought to Arsenal's attack throughout his illustrious career. This iconic photo, taken by Arsenal Football Club's photographer Mike King, captures the excitement and passion of a pivotal moment in Arsenal's history. Henry's goal not only contributed to the team's success that day but also added to his impressive tally of 228 goals for the club. This image is a reminder of the electrifying moments and memories created on the hallowed turf of Highbury.
