As part of a wader package, 3 Commando Brigade along with 4 Assault Squadron Royal Marines (4 ASRM), 29 and 24 Commando today conducted exercises using landing craft, hover craft and a Royal Air Force Chinook helicopter currently based on HMS Illustrious.
The training happened in Carlyon Bay near St. Austell, Cornwall with civilian onlookers.
The LCAC (L) (R) is a direct replacement for the LCAC (L) currently in service with 539 Assault Squadron Royal Marines. The craft is required to operate in a hostile marine environment in extreme temperatures. It may be deployed for several months with very limited maintenance support facilities. The primary role of the LCAC (L) (R) is as an air-portable, fully amphibious craft capable of the high speed movement of 16 fully equipped troops and a crew of 2 over water, ice, mud, marshland and beach

Bevelled wood effect frame, card mounted, 15x10 archival quality photo print. Overall outside dimensions 21x16 inches (54x41cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass). The back is stapled hardboard with a sawtooth hanger attached.
