Margot Fonteyn, Rudolf Nureyev and Princess Grace of Monaco
Margot Fonteyn (R) speaks 02 July 1968 with Soviet born ballet dancer Rudolf Nureyev (C) and Princess Grace of Monaco in front of the stage setting for the Third International Ballet Festival in Monte Carlo. Nureyev studied at the Leningrad Choreographic School, and became a soloist with the Kirov Ballet. While touring with the Ballet in 1961, he obtained political asylum in Paris. Nureyevs virtuosity and expressiveness made him one of the greatest male dancers of the 1960 s, in both classical and modern ballets. He became ballet director of the Paris Opera in 1983. / AFP PHOTO
