Ribbon Snake Collection

The Ribbon Snake (Thamnophis sauritus) is a species of non-venomous snake found in North America, and is a slender, long-bodied snake with smooth scales and can grow up to 3 feet in length, bright yellow or greenish-yellow stripe running along its back, which gives it its name. Its underside is usually white or yellowish and may have black spots. This species of snake prefers wet areas such as marshes, swamps, ponds and streams where they feed on frogs, tadpoles, small fish and other aquatic creatures, and are active during the day but can also be seen at night when they come out to hunt for food, and are harmless to humans but will bite if provoked or threatened. They make great pets for those who enjoy keeping reptiles as they are relatively easy to care for and handle with caution.
