Kinkajou Collection

Kinkajou (Procyonidae) is a mammal native to Central and South America, and is also known as the honey bear, due to its fondness for sweet fruits, and are arboreal, meaning they live in trees, and have long tails that help them balance while climbing, and are omnivorous animals, eating both plants and animals such as insects, eggs, small vertebrates, and fruit. Kinkajous have thick fur which helps keep them warm in their tropical habitats, and are active at night and sleep during the day in hollow trees or nests made of leaves or vines. Kinkajous communicate through vocalizations such as chirps or barks but can also use scent marking to communicate with each other. They live alone or in small family groups of up to four individuals consisting of a male-female pair plus their offspring from previous years' litters. Kinkajous play an important role in maintaining healthy ecosystems by dispersing seeds from the fruits they eat throughout their range.
