Bernardus, or Macropodidae, are a family of mammals native to Australia and New Guinea, and are commonly referred to as kangaroos, wallabies, pademelons and bettongs. Their diet consists mainly of grasses and leaves but they will also eat insects, fruits and flowers, and are be found in a variety of habitats including woodlands, grasslands, wetlands and even urban areas, and are social animals that live in groups called mobs or troops which can consist of up to 50 individuals.
