Hares also have a different coat color than rabbits, ranging from brown to white or grey. They live in open fields and grasslands, where they feed on grasses, herbs, twigs and bark and can reach speeds of up to 45 mph when running away from predators such as foxes or wolves. In the winter months they will burrow into the ground for shelter from cold temperatures.
