Blue Sheep Postcard Collection

Blue sheep (Bovidae) are mammals found in the Himalayan region of Central and South Asia, and are a medium-sized species, with males reaching up to 3.3 feet in height and weighing up to 150 pounds. They have thick, woolly coats that range from light gray to dark brown in color, with white patches on their flanks and backs. They live in small herds of up to 20 individuals, grazing on grasses and herbs throughout the day. During the winter months they migrate down into lower elevations for food sources and can active during both day and night, but prefer to rest during midday when temperatures can be extreme at high altitudes and are known for their impressive jumping ability which allows them to escape predators such as snow leopards or wolves that may threaten them while grazing or resting.
