Tundra Swan Collection

The Tundra Swan (Cygnus columbianus) is a species of swan found in North America and parts of Europe, and is the smallest of the five species of swans found in North America, and one of the most widely distributed waterfowl species, white body with black legs, feet, and bill. Its wings are long and pointed, with black tips on its primary feathers. During breeding season, males develop a yellow patch on their forehead that gives them their distinctive appearance. They feed mainly on aquatic plants such as pondweed and wild celery but will also take insects when available. They breed in large colonies near shallow wetlands or lakes where they can find food easily during migration periods. The Tundra Swan is an important part of many ecosystems due to its ability to help disperse seeds throughout its range as it feeds on aquatic vegetation during migration periods.
