Great Smoky Mountains National Park straddles the border between North Carolina and Tennessee. The sprawling landscape encompasses lush forests and an abundance of wildflowers that bloom year-round. Streams, rivers and waterfalls appear along hiking routes that include a segment of the Appalachian Trail. Mingo Falls is a 120 ft high waterfall located in the Qualla Boundary-a land trust of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians-near the town of Cherokee, Swain County, North Carolina in the Blue Ridge Mountains of the eastern United States
