Sketch for the Last Supper

Preparatory sketch in red chalk by Leonardo da Vinci for his fresco of The Last Supper. This is one of a number of compositional sketches he made in preparation for the fresco he was to paint on the wall of the refectory of the monastery of Santa Maria della Grazie, Milan, between 1495 and 1498
