City of London. A figure stands amid destroyed and burnt-out buildings. The Brewer's Hall in Aldermanbury was built in 1673 after its predecessor was destroyed in the Great Fire of London. This hall was then destroyed during the Blitz. A new hall was built in 1960 and stands on the same site. Photographed by Bedford Lemere in 1941
