Vicki Waters, 24, and her brother Paul, 25, were born with a condition called congenital sensitivity to pain (CIP), which means their brains do not register pain picked up by their nerves. As children they used to break their own fingers as a protest when they couldn't have an ice cream, or put their hands flat on the hot stove. Vicki and Paul are the only people in the UK who have their particular form of CIP. They've had numerous falls and injuries without feeling what was happening to them. Now as adults they are more careful, but suffer from arthritis as a result of all the broken bones over the years

Comprising siblings Stedman, Lorraine, Deniece, Doris and Delroy Pearson, known for their flamboyant image, matching costumes and heavily choreographed dance routines. Five Star achieved a string of Top 40 singles and albums in the UK between 1985 and 1988.
