Shuttle Photograph of Northern Sudan Featured Lakes Print

Shuttle Photograph of Northern Sudan

Shuttle photograph of the northern half of Sudan. The Nile is visible meandering across the right of the frame and it is possible to see where the Nile Delta in Egypt meets the Mediterranean Sea just on the limb of the Earth. The Red Sea runs prominently across the top right hand corner of the frame. An area of greener fertile land is visible to the right, this is the highly irrigated region between the White and the Blue Niles. Lake Chad appears as a darker area at bottom left. The picture was taken from an altitude of 332 nautical miles
