This breathtaking print captures the stunning beauty of the Florida peninsula as seen from space. Taken on January 31,2009, by a crew member of Expedition 18 aboard the International Space Station, this image showcases the entire state in all its glory. From the foreground, we can see the iconic Florida Keys and Everglades stretching out before us, their unique landscapes and vibrant colors captivating our imagination. As our gaze moves northward, Lake Okeechobee comes into view, its vast expanse shimmering under the sunlight. And then there it is – Cape Canaveral – a symbol of human ingenuity and exploration reaching towards the heavens. However, a solar panel partially obstructs our view of the panhandle portion on top left. Yet even with this obstruction, we are still able to appreciate just how expansive and diverse this peninsula truly is. The contrast between land and water is strikingly evident in this photograph as both Atlantic Ocean and Gulf waters surround Florida's shores.
