EDITORS COMMENTS
This print captures the electrifying moment when Terry Hall and The Colourfield took to the stage at Coventry Lanchester Polytechnic for the Cov Aid event. The concert was organized with a noble cause in mind - to raise funds for starving children in Africa. It marked a significant milestone for The Colourfield, as it was their much-anticipated hometown debut. The image showcases Terry Hall, the lead singer, pouring his heart out into the microphone while surrounded by his bandmates and an adoring crowd of over 800 pop fans. Their enthusiasm is palpable as they soak up every note and lyric emanating from the stage. The event itself was a remarkable display of solidarity, featuring 15 bands from the Coventry area who each performed a powerful 20-minute set during this six-and-a-half-hour celebration. Two halls were utilized interchangeably to accommodate such an immense turnout. Beyond its musical brilliance, this concert made an indelible impact on fighting hunger in Ethiopia and Sudan. Through generous donations from attendees and supporters alike, more than £3,200 was raised towards this vital cause.
