William Rimmer Acrylic Blox Collection

William Rimmer (1816-1879) was an American artist and sculptor from Massachusetts. He is best known for his paintings of landscapes, portraits, and religious scenes. He was also a skilled lithographer, etcher, and teacher. His works were widely exhibited in the United States during his lifetime. He studied at the Lowell Institute in Boston before traveling to Europe to study art in Paris and Rome. After returning to the United States he taught at Harvard University for several years before settling in Boston where he continued to paint until his death in 1879. His works are now held by many museums including the Museum of Fine Arts Boston and The Metropolitan Museum of Art New York City. William Rimmer's legacy lives on through his artwork which continues to inspire viewers today with its beauty and emotionality.
