Hawker Hurricane Collection

The Hawker Hurricane is a British single-seat fighter aircraft that was designed and predominantly built by Hawker Aircraft Ltd for the Royal Air Force (RAF). It was one of the first modern fighters of the era, and it played a major role in the Battle of Britain. The Hurricane had an all-metal construction with fabric-covered wings and tailplane. It was powered by a Rolls Royce Merlin engine, which gave it excellent performance at high altitudes. The Hurricane could reach speeds of up to 330 mph, making it one of the fastest aircraft in its class at the time. Its armament consisted of eight. 303 Browning machine guns mounted in its wings, giving it formidable firepower against enemy aircraft. The Hurricane proved to be an effective fighter during World War II, shooting down more enemy planes than any other RAF fighter during that conflict.
