25 year old Stirling Moss of Great Britain yesterday became the first Englishman to win the 1000 mile road race, Mille Miglia. The motor race was over the mountains and plains of Northern Italy and was won in the record time of 10 hours 7 minutes 48 seconds. Moss drove the new three litre German Mercedes and averaged over 124 mph along the fifty six mile stretch between Cremona and Mantura. At times he touched 200 mph
