The Saint Class locomotives, named after saints and famous figures, were designed by George Churchward, the Chief Mechanical Engineer of the GWR, and were considered the backbone of the company's main line express passenger services during the early 20th century. No. 2902, Lady of the Lake, is a prime example of the Saint Class's power and elegance. Its distinctive red liveried body, adorned with intricate brasswork and polished metal fittings, gleams in the soft light of the museum, a testament to the meticulous restoration work carried out by the dedicated team at the Steam Museum.
