Kent County Cricket Club is one of the 18 first-class county clubs that make up the English and Welsh domestic cricket structure, and is based at the St Lawrence Ground in Canterbury, Kent. The club was founded in 1842 and has been a member of the County Championship since 1890. They have won the championship seven times, most recently in 2007. Kent also competes in limited overs competitions such as One Day Internationals, Twenty20s and List A matches. The club's main rivals are Surrey and Sussex, with whom they contest the annual "Sussex Derby". Kent also has strong ties to other counties such as Middlesex, Hampshire and Essex due to its close proximity to London.
