Cassini Collection

The Cassini spacecraft was a joint project between NASA, the European Space Agency, and the Italian Space Agency. Launched in 1997, it was sent to explore Saturn and its moons. The mission lasted for 13 years, during which time Cassini made numerous flybys of Saturn's moons and sent back data about their composition and geology. It also studied the planet's atmosphere and magnetic field. In 2017, Cassini ended its mission with a dramatic plunge into Saturn's atmosphere. During its time in space, it provided us with invaluable insights into our Solar System's most distant planet and helped us better understand our place in the Universe.
