Yang Liwei (born 1965), Chinas first astronaut. Yangs spaceflight took place on 15 October 2003, aboard a Shenzhou spacecraft, launched by a Long March rocket. It was the fifth Shenzhou mission, and first to carry a human crew. Yang orbited the Earth 21 times, landing in Inner Mongolia.
